Scientific Interests:

Our research focuses on understanding underlying genomic bases of organismal adaptations, particularly in microbial organisms. We have developed and applied computational and experimental strategies to address relevant transitions such as the origin of eukaryotes, the emergence of novel fungal pathogens, or the acquisition of resistance by microbes during therapy. One of our current research lines addresses how the roles of the human microbiome in health and disease, and how they can be exploited for preventive, diagnostic, or therapeutic purposes. Another research interest addresses how fungal pathogens emerged and adapted to teh human host, and how they can become resistant to antifungal drugs

This offer applies to trainees/researchers eligible for the following fellowships

All fellowships (not restricted to fellowship holders)
