Research Area(s): Plant Biology
Affiliation: Universidad de Guadalajara
Country: México
Scientific Interests:
In my work as a research professor at the Centro Universitario de los Valles of the University of Guadalajara, I developed a line of research focused on the molecular biology of plants, the plant-pathogen interaction and soil agrobiotechnology, with special attention to crops. Agricultural characteristics of the Valleys region.
Currently, I am committed to understanding the molecular biology of emblematic crops such as agave, sugar cane and various vegetables. My approach focuses on the study of the specific plant-pathogen interaction mechanisms of these species, with the aim of contributing to the development of agrobiotechnological strategies that optimize the health and yield of these crops in the context of the region.
The projects in my laboratory are aimed at investigating the factors that activate key genes in the regulation of biological processes fundamental for the growth and resistance of these crops.
