Our research includes pre-clinical and clinical studies to explore the genetic, molecular and physiological mechanisms that underlie obesity, diabetes and metabolic complications during pregnancy. In addition, we investigate the therapeutic potential of indigenous plants/synthetic medicinal compounds to prevent and/or treat metabolic disease.
