Scientific Interests:

My research focuses on translating epigenetic mechanisms into clinically useful biomarkers for male reproductive-system cancers, with a primary emphasis on prostate cancer and testicular germ cell tumours. At the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, I lead the epiMark research group and contribute to the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine, developing liquid-biopsy assays based on circulating cell-free DNA methylation and miRNA profiles. I integrate wet-lab epigenomics with bioinformatics and multi-omics approaches to identify, validate and clinically benchmark diagnostic and risk-stratification markers, and to understand tumour and cancer-stem-cell biology. My interests also include biomarker standardisation, pre-analytical variables and implementation pathways that enable affordable, minimally invasive cancer detection and monitoring in diverse healthcare settings.

This offer applies to trainees/researchers eligible for the following fellowships
