Díaz-Moreno, Irene
Researcher Name: Díaz-Moreno, Irene (She / Her)
Research Area(s): Molecular Biophysics
Affiliation: University of Sevilla
Country: España
Scientific Interests:
The research of the group is focused on the structural and functional analysis of biological macromolecules, as well as protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions, which are crucial for a broad range of cell processes. We also attempt to gain a deeper insight into the post-translational modifications of proteins, specially of mitochondrial cytochrome c (Cc) – a protein which plays a double role in redox metabolism and programmed cell death. In addition, we try to understand the evolution of cell death by identifying novel targets of Cc.
Our research work is clear-cut multi- and interdisciplinary. In collaboration with worldwide laboratories, we apply a broad diversity of methodologies and techniques ranging from molecular and cell biology to biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology and computational chemistry.
– Structure-function relationship of macromolecular complexes
– Molecular recognition and protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions
– Transient, multivalent, and diffuse (fuzzy) interactions between macromolecules
– Structural and functional study of intrinsically disordered proteins and their role in liquid-liquid phase transition
– Holistic analysis of metabolic profiles in agri-food
