Sharma Saha, Sweta

Researcher Name: Sharma Saha, Sweta (She / Her)

Research Area(s): Cell Biology

Affiliation: National Horizons Centre, Teesside University

Country: United Kingdom

Scientific Interests:

Our research focusses on understanding tumour heterogeneity in ovarian cancers and identifying molecular biomarkers as determinants of response or resistance to chemotherapy while developing novel targeted treatment approaches for therapy resistant ovarian cancers. In the lab, we use both in vitro cell line based cancer models as well as patient-derived primary culture models for addressing our research questions. Strong focus is there on using “omics” approaches coupled with functional characterization of molecular pathways using a variety of molecular analysis methods to understand the disease and develop new treatment approaches.
