Scientific Interests:

My main research interest is focused on the biochemistry and molecular biology of biosynthesis of secondary compounds, which are accumulated in chili pepper fruits, such as capsaicinoids (hot compounds), pigments (anthocyanins and carotenoids) and vitamins (vitamin C or ascorbic acid). Transcriptional regulation, transcriptomics, and function studies of transcription factor genes implicated in those biosynthetic pathway are currently under study in my group.
