Junior-GBM/FEBS Junior Sections present Anna McConnell
August 11 @ 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm CEST
These are the details of the May talk:
Speaker: Dr. Anna McConnell, Otto-Diels-Institute, University of Kiel, Germany
Topic: “My Supramolecular Chemistry Journey”
Time: 11 August, 19:00 (CET)
For more information, see abstract below and visit Anna McConnell webpage.
In nature, non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding are important in a number of processes from the self-assembly of DNA to the recognition of substrates within enzymes. Supramolecular chemistry focuses on exploiting non-covalent interactions between molecules to self-assemble structures that would not be possible using traditional covalent chemistry. In this talk I will discuss my career path in supramolecular chemistry and how I combine research with supporting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in supramolecular chemistry as a member of the Women in Supramolecular Chemistry (WISC) network.
