More information found here >>

Dear colleagues,

It is our pleasure and honor to host the 48th FEBS Congress – ‘Mining biochemistry for human health and well-being’ – in Milano, Italy, from June 29 to July 3, 2024, for scientists from all over Europe and other parts of the world. The Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SIB), founded in 1951, will be the host Society of the event.

The 48th FEBS Congress will present a broad-spectrum and ground-breaking scientific program, completed in a fruitful collaboration with the journals of FEBS and representatives from FEBS Constituent Societies. The focus on human health and well-being, through molecular and cellular science approaches, reflects a key social issue and a specific commitment of SIB and the whole biochemical community in a time of ongoing global transitions. Besides important research topics following the latest and emerging developments in the biochemical sciences, the Congress activities will include dedicated education-oriented sessions, symposia organized by young biochemists, and biochemistry-related economic discussions. There will also be opportunities for presentations from industry of the latest advances in commercial instrumentation.

The Congress will be preceded by a FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum taking place in Pavia, an historic university town that is a 25-minute train ride south of Milano.

While every major city in Italy offers a wide range of must-see attractions, no metropolis on the peninsula mixes ancient and modern better than Milano, the 48th FEBS Congress host city. Milano is one of the main Italian centers for life science research (academic and corporate), for every branch of culture, for business and finance, and for fashion, lifestyle trends and creative initiatives. It is a truly European and charming city with an open-minded cosmopolitan attitude, which is appreciated every year by huge numbers of business and touristic visitors. Milano is also a center for Italian renaissance history, with unforgettable monuments, churches (starting from the famous Duomo), downtown architecture, the Castle, art museums, Da Vinci’s mural ‘The Last Supper’, and events related to classical music. The FEBS 2024 Congress will be organized at MICO Convention Centre, one of the largest conference facilities in Europe, in front of the new Citylife district, an area characterized by iconic architectures, skyscrapers, residential buildings and spare-time shopping malls.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I warmly invite scientists from all over the world to join us in Milano for the 48th FEBS Congress – ‘Mining biochemistry for human health and well-being’ – starting June 29, 2024!
