A major activity of the IUBMB is the organization of international meetings to present cutting edge research in area of biochemistry and molecular biology. Congresses with sponsorship from the IUBMB are held at intervals of three years and are in conjunction with a regional society. In addition, one Focused Meeting on a specific topic is held each year with a deadline of two years in advance. There will be no Focus Meetings in 2024.
