IUBMB Wood-Whelan Research Fellowships

The IUBMB Wood-Whelan Research Fellowships were established in 1983 with funds provided by an appeal among the world’s biochemists for the purpose of granting short-term fellowships to trainee and early career biochemists to carry out research and training in a laboratory other than their own. This was named after Harland Wood, former General Secretary and President of IUB, and William Whelan, former General Secretary of IUB and former President of IUBMB. Additions contributions to the fund were made by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

The IUBMB has supported over 350 fellows since 1983, many of whom continued on to successful careers in biochemistry and molecular biology. You can read about them here.

Please consider Donating now to this fund to ensure its success in the forthcoming years.
