IUBMB Speakers at FEBS Events

Since 2011, the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) has collaborated with the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) to financially support IUBMB Speakers“ invited to FEBS Events such as FEBS Advanced Lecture Courses / FEBS Practical Courses / FEBS Practical and Lecture Courses / FEBS Workshops / FEBS Special Meetings. The following terms and conditions apply together with the Guidelines of the FEBS Advanced Courses Program available on the FEBS website.

  • Advanced Lecture Courses / Practical Courses / Practical and Lecture Courses / Workshops / Special Meetings are eligible to host IUBMB Speakers.

  • IUBMB Speakers must be from a country represented in the IUBMB as an Adhering or Associated Adhering body.

  • FEBS organizers must clearly identify IUBMB Speakers in all relevant programmes, on event websites and event materials.

  • Organizers may receive financial support of up to US $2.000 from IUBMB to cover partial or full expenses of one IUBMB Speaker at each FEBS event. These funds may not be used to cover other expenses of the event.

  • IUBMB Speakers may be proposed by organizers in the relevant FEBS Application Forms.

  • IUBMB Speakers are not transferable. In the event that the IUBMB Speaker is no longer available, a fresh application must be submitted for a new IUBMB Speaker.

  • Organizers should send a brief CV of the nominee to the FEBS Advanced Courses Secretariat (advanced.courses@febs.org) by the date noted in their FEBS Advanced Course award instructions. FEBS Advanced Courses Secretariat then collects all proposals and submits them to the IUBMB Awards Committee by October 30th.

  • IUBMB Speaker nominations have to be approved by the IUBMB Executive Committee. Organizers will be notified about the IUBMB decision by the FEBS Advanced Courses Secretariat, with the IUBMB Treasurer coordinating the award wit the successful applicants.
