Submission of bids for the 2030 IUBMB Congress
Deadline extension for full bid: 15 December – Details here
Welcome to IUBMB
The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology unites biochemists and molecular biologists in 75 countries and regions.
The IUBMB promotes research and education throughout the world, and especially in countries where the subject is still in its early development.
It achieves this in several ways.
Meet the IUBMB Team
The IUBMB Leadership Team is made up of biochemistry professors who volunteer their time to find the most effective ways to promote biochemistry and molecular biology to the next generation and around the world - it is such a privilege to be part of it!
The IUBMB provides me with an opportunity to internationally promote and support the subjects of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology that I am passionate about. It has enabled me to attend many important conferences over the years that have inspired me, also enabled me to meet many students from all over the world and a few of them have come to my lab to undertake research because of these encounters.
Andrew H.-J. Wang
IUBMB Past President
I am honored and feel privileged to serve as President of IUBMB, an organization uniting 100,000 biochemists from 79 adhering bodies globally. This experience broadens my vision and enables me to think critically on how to contribute to the world which faces many challenges.
M. Iqbal Parker
IUBMB General Secretary
The IUBMB plays a crucial role in the development of young scientists and promoting Biochemistry and Molecular Biology globally. These are ideals that appeal very strongly to me and it gives me great pleasure to be part of the magnificent team driving these endeavours.
Serving as the IUBMB Treasurer represents a unique opportunity to spend my time supporting young scientists and promoting Biochemistry and Molecular biology. This is a privilege since “non exiguum temporis habemus, sed multum perdidimus” (Seneca).
Ilona Concha Grabinger
Member for Congresses and Focused Meetings
What I enjoy the most about my role at the IUBMB is to promote biochemistry and molecular biology among young scientists from different countries.
Member for Publications
I enjoy serving the international community of biochemistry and molecular biology, to make my contributions in matters related to publication, nomenclature and others.
LIM Yang Mooi
I enjoy working with great scientists in promoting research and education in biochemistry and molecular biology. I feel privileged to be part of IUBMB.
Throughout my training, I always saw IUBMB publications and nomenclature as a beacon in the biochemistry and molecular biology space. When I got the opportunity to formally contribute to IUBMB, I leapt at the chance. The opportunity to contribute to such a vibrant international community and to contribute to the sharing of knowledge has been an enormous privilege.
Ambassador to Africa
The IUBMB provides several opportunities in outreach projects and a vast network of volunteers to promote molecular biosciences to the next generation in Africa.
The IUBMB provides me with the opportunity to promote the benefits of being part of a large organisation that will support research, teaching and the training of biochemists and molecular biologists especially young scientists in the Asian and Pacific region. I am honoured to be able to support the next generation of scientists though their discoveries will make the World a better place to live in.
I feel that biochemistry should be accessible to all who want to learn and that curiosity knows no borders, so what I enjoy most about my role is that, with the help of the IUBMB sharing my fun blog posts and graphics, I am able to help bring the joy of biochemistry to people around the world in a way that is authentically me.
